"With Literacy and Justice for All"
LiteracyNation Inc., in partnership with the Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT), proudly presents the second annual LiteracyNation Read-a-Thon. Join us for a day of inspiration, community, and the joy of reading.
Event Details:
Our Read-a-Thon goes beyond fundraising—it’s a celebration of the written word and intellectual freedom. Participants, whether seasoned readers or curious newcomers, will immerse themselves in banned and challenged books. These literary gems, once considered controversial, now stand as beacons of resilience and courage.
Why Read Banned Books?
Richard E. Ashby Jr.: A Literary Advocate As the spearhead of this initiative, I am passionate about literacy, justice, and the transformative power of books. Our Read-a-Thon isn’t just about turning pages; it’s about igniting conversations, dismantling biases, and celebrating the written word.
Join Us! Whether you’re attending the ALA Annual Conference in person or following virtually, mark your calendar. Let’s come together, turn the pages, and honor the authors who dared to write against the odds.
Remember, literacy knows no boundaries. Let’s read, learn, and champion the freedom to explore all corners of human experience.
See you at the LiteracyNation Read-a-Thon!
Thank you to our sponsors: Thorndike Press, Gale, MAYS Publishing, Coretta Scott King Book Awards Round Table, Black Caucus of the American Library Association, the Freedom to Read Foundation and as always our partners at OCLC for their continuous support.
