"With Literacy and Justice For All"
LiteracyNation Inc. began its journey in 2010, fueled by a passion for words and a vision of inclusivity. In the winter of 2011, our brick-and-mortar library opened its doors in West Philadelphia—a sanctuary where stories found their voice and dreams took root.
We wear transparency like a badge of honor. Candid-approved (formerly Guidestar), we’ve attained Gold Transparency Status. Our IRS forms safeguard our 501(3)© nonprofit status, ensuring that every dollar fuels literacy initiatives.
In January 2023, the stars aligned. LiteracyNation Inc. was officially recognized as an Affiliate of the American Library Association. Imagine the doors flung open—the keys to a treasure trove of resources, connections, and knowledge. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with literary giants, ready to empower our members.
We’ve been EDI warriors—partners to entities building Education, Diversity, and Inclusion programs. Our core values? Serving underserved communities of Color and supporting diverse self-published authors and independent booksellers. Today, corporations and organizations join hands with us, their sponsorships and donations fueling our mission.
Our goal transcends pages. We raise funds to support authors, libraries, and community organizations. But it’s more than dollars—it’s about amplifying voices. We champion books that celebrate diversity, inclusion, and positive representation of People of Color. Their stories matter.
Behind the scenes, our Indiec@ts—professional catalogers—work magic. They weave authors’ works into the WorldCat System. What does that mean? It means global visibility. When your book joins WorldCat, it dances across continents, whispering to readers in languages yet unknown.
IndieViewers, as diligent librarians, play a crucial role in supporting independent authors. Here’s how:
In summary, IndieViewers are champions of indie literature, bridging the gap between authors and readers while promoting literary quality.
LiteracyNation Inc. isn’t just an organization; it’s a revolution. We expose our members’ ideas on social media platforms, spotlight them at major library conferences, and ensure their legacy echoes through time. Let’s write this chapter together.
