Charge for the Marketing and Public Relations Committee
- Press Releases and Media Outreach: The committee will draft and distribute press releases, working with the Executive Board and other committees to ensure consistent messaging that aligns with Literacy Nation’s initiatives. They will also seek out media opportunities to enhance the organization’s visibility.
- Collaborative Campaign Development: Partnering with the Executive Board and relevant committees, the committee will develop targeted marketing campaigns to promote brand awareness, events, and key initiatives, ensuring alignment with Literacy Nation’s mission and goals.
- Advertising and Media Opportunities: The committee will identify and pursue advertising opportunities across various platforms, including digital, print, and social media, to increase engagement and attract new members, while ensuring strategic media placement for maximum outreach.
Committee Meetings:
The committee will meet monthly to discuss progress, review proposed events, and coordinate upcoming activities. Meetings will also be used to plan, evaluate, and refine initiatives that support Literacy Nation’s mission, ensuring all activities align with the organization’s broader goals of promoting literacy and supporting indie authors.
Expected Outcomes:
- Increased Visibility of Literacy Nation: The committee’s work will lead to heightened visibility of Literacy Nation and its initiatives, promoting the organization’s mission and expanding its reach within the library and literacy communities. This includes increasing awareness of our work and amplifying our impact on indie authors and illustrators.
- Brand Awareness and Membership Growth: Through strategic marketing campaigns, press outreach, and media partnerships, the committee will support Literacy Nation’s strategic initiative to recruit more members, enhance brand awareness, and foster growth within the organization.
- Visibility for Members’ Work: The committee’s initiatives will contribute to increasing the visibility of members' work, ensuring indie authors and illustrators are recognized for their contributions to the literary world, while furthering the organization’s role as a champion for diverse voices and independent creators.
Reporting:
The committee will provide regular updates to the Executive Board on its progress and activities, including updates on initiatives, booklists, events, and collaborations with libraries, ensuring ongoing alignment with the goals of Literacy Nation.
