The Literacy Nation Committees will be standing committees, meaning they are permanent and ongoing, established to carry out specific tasks that are essential to Literacy Nation’s long-term objectives. Each committee will be chaired by a member of the Executive Board and consist of no less than 2-3 members. The chair of each committee will actively work to identify, select, and recruit additional members as needed, and will be responsible for coordinating and running meetings to facilitate the work of the committee.
The chair will also prepare and present reports to the Executive Board, ensuring the committee’s progress aligns with the overall goals of the organization. These committees will meet regularly, developing a schedule based on the specific work and timeline of their respective initiatives. These standing committees are essential to furthering Literacy Nation’s vision of increasing membership, enhancing engagement with the organization, and providing meaningful programmatic experiences.
Through their efforts, these committees will help build connections, provide structured opportunities for participation, and create lasting, impactful programming that serves the mission of promoting literacy and supporting independent authors and illustrators.
In the event that a committee chair position is vacant, the Board reserves the right to make appointments for these positions.
